Matkin Hoover Engineering & Surveying was formed by John-Mark Matkin, P.E. and Allen Hoover, P.E. as a full-service civil engineering firm specializing in land development (commercial and residential), municipal architecture, land planning, and consulting services.

At Matkin Hoover Engineering & Surveying, we strive to provide exceptional services to all our clients through sound and innovative engineering, project coordination and diligent communication between owner, engineer, contractor and governing agencies.

Matkin Hoover Engineering & Surveying offers engineering services statewide, having worked in 60 different municipalities throughout the state.

John-Mark’s project management experience includes municipal utility projects, residential, and commercial projects as well as flood studies and flood plain reclamation projects.

Allen Hoover, P.E.
Vice President

Allen is experienced in all facets of civil engineering including project management, engineering design, and construction inspection within a wide variety of civil engineering projects including: water, sewer, natural gas, paving, drainage, flood studies, residential developments, commercial developments, and park improvements.

Ken Kolacny, P.E.

Ken’s diverse management experience includes municipal utility projects, sanitary sewer lift stations, water treatment plants, master planned residential communities and commercial projects, as well as, flood studies and flood plain reclamation projects.

Jeff Carroll, P.E.
Vice President

Jeff is a vital part of our team as a Vice President for commercial land development in the San Antonio and surrounding Hill Country area. He also leads a team in designing grading, drainage, street, sewer, water and utility plans. Jeff is responsible for engineering plan production and design as well as coordinating approval from regulatory agencies.

Greg Purvis
Construction Manager

Education:
 Texas A&M University - Austin, San Antonio Extention

Greg brings 15 years of Construction Management experience to Matkin Hoover Engineering & Surveying.  Prior to joining Matkin Hoover, Greg worked in Project Management, Highway Construction Safety, Traffic Control and OSHA Training for Construction Safety in various municipalities of Texas.

Matt McCormick, P.E.
Project Manager

 Colorado School of Mines, Golden
  Bachelor of Science, Engineering – 2000

Prior to joining Matkin Hoover, Matt specialized in roadway engineering with DMJM+Harris in Denver. Matt currently supports his team in various areas of engineering, including residential and commercial development, municipalities and land planning.
