Assistant Project Manager

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist Senior Project manager or vice-President in the production of project plans, specifications and cost estimates
  • Develop feasible design alternative and compare significant parameters such as typical sections, horizontal and vertical alignments, right-of-way requirements and cost
  • Identify and analyze the principle design features and major design alternatives that satisfy the projects purpose and need
  • Use computer assisted engineering studies using approved company format
  • Direct production work of engineering technicians
  • Communicate and coordinate with clients on design dedicated topics and sub consultants

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science degree in civil or agricultural engineering from an accredited college or university
  • 4 years previous experience in civil site design, preferably land development with experience in military/federal projects
  • Familiar with engineering principles, techniques, and procedures
  • Experience using computer aided design techniques
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees, clients, and public agencies
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD – Civil 3D and MS Office
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written
  • Must be able to work Monday – Friday 8:00am – 5:00pm with probable OT
  • Must be reliable and dependable

CAD Technician

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work from detailed sketches to produce computer-generated drawings in AutoCAD, LDD 2009 and AutoCAD Civil 3-D
  • Understand and use established company standards for drafting including layer names, line and character styles, drawings and window names, and file names from sheet layout
  • Analyze sketches, notes and other input material to determine and plan the best approach to develop and complete drawings with minimal supervision. Operate off red-lines
  • Inform Project manager(s) of progress on assigned projects and request work when needed
  • Maintain organized work area to allow access of project information by other team members
  • Flexible in work assignments and team assignments as well as workable hours

Qualifications

  • Associates Degree or Diploma in Computer-Aided Drafting and Design from an accredited institution of higher education
  • Minimum of 2 years experience using AutoCAD for civil design site work, preferably with Land Desktop and Civil 3-D
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, preferable with Civil 3-D
  • Effective communications skills with all level of employees within an organization, both oral and written
  • Effective interpersonal skills with all level of employees within an organization as well as clients and public agency officials
  • Self-starter
  • Ability to work interdependently within a team environment
  • Must be flexible to changes in work assignments on short notice and/or on a daily basis as changes occur in project needs
  • Must be able to work 8:00am to 5:00pm, Monday through Friday with the probability of working outside these hours as project needs arise
